Monkeyland

We begin the tour with a visit to a typical country house, where you can interact with Dominicans and learn about living off the land and using organic products. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to taste roasted coffee and cocoa.

The second part of the tour starts with a visit to our beautiful botanical garden, where you’ll discover the island’s native plants and flowers. Following this, you’ll spend 45 minutes on a guided tour that brings you up close to our charming and friendly squirrel monkeys at Monkeyland.

These intelligent and sociable monkeys have been trained by a Canadian couple with 35 years of experience working with animals, including 12 years at the Toronto Zoo, teaching the monkeys to trust and enjoy human company. The tour takes place on 5 acres of picturesque land that the monkeys call home.

The monkeys are entirely accustomed to human contact. They come down from the trees, sit on your shoulder, and eat from your hands. Be careful—they are fascinated by shiny and intriguing objects! The little monkeys love posing for pictures and might even inspect your camera if allowed. Adorable! Come and share an unforgettable experience!
